"My parents were Blake and Grace Nash and these photos are from one of their old photo albums. My mother was a Webb and grew up on 640-11th St., Brandon and the backyard shot is probably from that location. Her parents were Lee and Maude Webb (Lee was killed in an accident at the CPR yards when a railway car rolled over him in 1916). My grandmother's parents homesteaded near Forrest in 1882." ~ Carol Hooper
"The homestead of Arthur Franklin (he is probably standing behind the team) near Minnedosa/Forrest.
I believe this was taken around 1905-1908. The woman on the left was my great-grandmother Ellen (Wright) Franklin with her son Willie and my grandmother Maude (holding the horse) with her sister Rose (I believe) on the right. Arthur Franklin came to Canada in 1882 from England to homestead and supposedly my grandmother was the first girl baby born in that area."
"This is a photo is of the house at 755-8th St. in Brandon (likely taken 1910-1916 ). My grandmother lived there until about 1916 when my grandfather was killed in a railway accident in the CPR yards, leaving her with four small children, and she lost the house. Any chance it's still there? I believe her subsequent home at 640-11th St. is still there."
