We landed in Kerala state after a 4-hour ride, left the train and were picked up by our bus for the rest of the trip of 3.5 hours. We took many photos of the city of Calicut which is known as the "City of Spices" for its role as the major trading point of eastern spices during the Middle ages and probably as early as Classical antiquity. It is also known as the "City of Sculptures" because of the various architectural sculptures located in various parts of the city. |
