We left Abirami Residence at 8:30 after a restless night's sleep. Construction with pile drivers started next door around 4 am and Sue-On suffered from a stuffed up nose, phlegmy chest and roaring in her ears even louder than the construction din. Breakfast was minimal as they didn't have eggs or even cold milk for corn flakes - a vegan restaurant? 

We boarded the bus early enough to get front seats for both of us which allowed us to take some good photos of the passing sights. Sitting in the bouncing rear seats yesterday hurt Bill’s back and made us both a bit car sick. Today's ride out of Pondicherry was much smoother ome pretty interesting sights along the way: hovels along the ditches made of palm fronds and whatever brick and scrap they could find. But just behind would be nice homes. Don’t know how people can live this way, but many do. This is the sugar cane centre and some fields were being harvested, all by hand. There was a sugar processing plant further down the road.
