March 31st, morning, We began our
day with a morning walk around the historic harbour.
Bill doesn't quite cut it as
a sailor;-)
HARBOUR SIGHTS
The smaller fishing boats are
anchored on the other side of the harbour
Nope, still not Blackbeard...Bwana
Bill maybe?
Our CEO Vera demonstrating the
"walk the plank" technique.
There were at least 12 of these
old wooden vessels in the harbour
Pretty cool looking ships but
not sure we could live on one . . .
. . . wouldn't even be able
to manage the gangplank!
The bikers we saw earlier decided
to take a breather
and hired a small boat to take
them down the river.
We're surprised these can still
stay afloat.
They transport cargo around
Indonesia
A stark contrast between these
ancient schooners and the modern highrises.
Cargo was being unloaded from
one of the schooners.
These bags were animal fodder
from the waste product from coconuts and palm sugar.
The guys make about $5.00 a
day.
Time to leave the harbour area.
. .
. . . on to our next adventure.
