This mom has  just dropped off an older child.

Kids fascinated by the visiting westerners.

*** Entrance to the classrooms.
*** Vera's having a great time playing with the kids.

Exploring the Classrooms

Kids arriving for class.
.

Before leaving the school area we had a chance to look over the village below.
.

  .

  . .

*** Kids wanting pictures with visitors
*** Appears to be a grandma, dropping off an older child
and looking after a younger one.
.

OUR HOMESTAY
*** The front of our homestay - unlike ANY we've ever stayed in!
*** The balcony where two other travellers stayed from their room to outdoor facilities
*** Next door is the home owner's section. We briefly met the hostess and daughter who doesn't speak any English.

Entering the homestay living room ~ A welcome sight after our long night without much sleep.

*** After our tour of the village, our hostess had set out our lunch:
Fried chicken, vegetables, corn fritters, soy bean cake. and steamed rice...
*** The pretty container holding our lunch.

After lunch, we were picked up from this G-Adventures-supported homestay
and travelled back to Melang for our hotel.
Luckily, there was no stalled truck on the way down.
