Trump was literally the worst president in US history, bar none.
And there is a long list of bad presidents. Some of the reasons:1, He appointed corrupt and incompetent people to various jobs in his cabinet and administration. Look a the first 2 years and note how many people had to resign, get fired or indicted! I believe I stopped counting at 75. No other president had anything close.
2, He lied over 30,000 times about all things great and small. Politicians lie, but none have had the record of falsehoods like Trump! And, even when caught in an obvious lie, he never relented or apologized.
3. He turned Americans against each other in ways that no president has ever done in US History. Most president say they are the president of ALL Americans and some even try to do that. Trump was president of only the people who voted for him. He actively tried to punish or ignore any Americans who did not support him or talk “nicely” about him. For example, during the pandemic he literally confiscated PPE from blues states and redistributed them to Red states. Blue state officials had to go out of their way many times to HIDE their stocks or shipments from federal officials. He cut emergency funding from places like Puerto Rico after the hurricane because the island did not support him and were full of brown-skinned people.
4. He totally bungled the response to the pandemic. He was warned it was coming, did nothing and when he acted, his decisions actually made things worse. For example, he said he blocked travel from China, but allowed Americans to come from the infected regions and never had them tested or quarantined. He allowed cruise ships to release their passengers, who were known to be infected, and did not track them or have them quarantined! He never organized or coordinated the response. Trump claimed responsibility for creating the vaccine and then had no plan to make it or get it in people’s arms. Then, when it was proven to be effective, actually actively tried to keep people from taking it!
5. He fought with our allies and actively tried to break up NATO.
6. He cut taxes for corporations and the rich and added trillions to the debt.
7. His policies and incompetence saw the loss of over 2 million jobs!
8. His bungling of the pandemic saw the loss of thousands of businesses and restaurants. And, many of those businesses are gone forever!
9. He lost the 2020 election by over 7 million votes and then tried to overturn the results and even take power back by force! That alone should disqualify him from ever holding any public office and should land him in prison for planning and trying to execute a coup!
10. He actively worked with Russia to undermine our alliances. He had multiple meetings with Russian assets and Putin without US translators and notes. He always complimented Putin, Xi and even Kim, and always criticized our allies and friends.
I am a very interested Canadian who only accepts proven facts. A couple of things I don't understand about trump supporters….#1. HOW did this crass, vulgar, lying, cheating, scamming, petty, vindictive, childish, incompetent, IMMORAL, anti-American wannabe dictator manage to ensnare so many people into his violent cult.
#2. WHY are trump cult members so wilfully ignorant? There is SO much real evidence of his corruption, LIES, cheating, malfeasance and abuse of power The trump cult shut their eyes tight; stick their fingers in their ears and sing la-la-la “ I can't hear you,? … Or they scream fake news.
It is disheartening & quite disturbing that so many people must really HATE their country & fellow citizens, that they are more than willing to have the country changed into a pseudo democracy or worse, tyrannical, theocratic dictatorship
Is Trump's cognitive decline worse than Biden’s?Part of the problem is what Trump’s staff encountered after a few weeks of working with him: There is very little cognitive ability and there is even less desire in him to even want to understand anything. All of those problems were then compounded by his decline due to age, unhealthy diet, and other poor health decisions, along with his emotional and psychological instability.
There is really no logical way to compare the two men.Biden is rational and functioning. He can understand and explain complex problems and policies. He can read long reports and comprehend situations. He can write clear and concise messages. He understands our Constitution and our history. He can still ride a bicycle and walk long distances.
By contrast, Trump refused to read any report and resisted writing anything. In briefings, his staff said they had to explain even simple concepts in the most basic terms and use pictures to help him understand. He would not read or attend briefings. He boasted that he had never read the Constitution and did not intend to read it. He constantly struggled with his staff because he expected to rule like a king and didn’t understand that our Constitution gives the president administrative powers, not anything more. He often made false statements because he never cared to know our history or science or anything he had to know to do his job. He needs to use a golf cart to get from a chip shot to the putting green and from one building to the next at the G7 summit meeting. He needed the assistance of an elderly gentleman to walk him down a handicap ramp. His poor health and psychological dysfunction has combined with age to make all of his inherent problems even worse.
The reality is that Trump was never fit for any government office even several decades ago and he is even less so now.
