I could carry on with all these lists of Gods, but the list does seem quite extensive. I think you get the idea.
Another way Gods are used, and that is to keep people controlled through fear and damnation.
The excuse for killing and taking over lands (all in the name of Gods).
Seriously though, this is now 2024 we no longer live in an age in which we need to believe in mythical magical supernatural sky entities that control us or the world. Honestly with some grown adults, it is like trying to convince a child that their invisible best friend doesn't really exist, or there really aren't any fairies at the bottom of the or monsters under the bed.

Actually, this stance regarding organized religion shows a very positive collective trait in our population. Many more people are opening their eyes to the crowd manipulation and intellectual tyranny and just walking away from it. No wonder those that exercise this sinister form of mind control are so upset by this trend. They are losing their iron-fisted grip on the population they want so badly to dominate.
